on 1 september, we will have been in this space for 1 year… how quickly time goes! thank you to all of you for coming and practicing and sharing your energy this past year! here is the september news:
1. on wednesday, 1 september, the MORNING MYSORE CLASSES will begin at their usual time of 7am.
2. starting on thursday, 2 september, the MID-DAY CLASSES on tuesday and thursday will be changing to MYSORE-STYLE (they will no longer be led classes) from 2pm – 3:30pm.
3. please note that the moon days this month are: WEDNESDAY, 10 SEPTEMBER and THURSDAY, 23 SEPTEMBER. there will be NO class on these days.
4. friday, 24 september, is a public holiday and on this day, the normal schedule of classes will be canceled. there will only be a led class at 10am
5. there will be an “earth + water” yin yoga workshop: focusing on grounding and flowing into the new work year, with kathy paez, on sunday, 19 september, from 12pm – 2:30pm. you will be receiving more information about this workshop soon.
6. this sunday, 5 september, there will be satsang at 11:30am, after the led class. this is an opportunity for us to come together and to speak about some aspects of the ashtanga yoga practice that are not being addressed in the daily classes. also, it will be an occasion in which one can raise any questions or issues that one has surrounding the practice. it will last about an hour. please note, that this satsang is free, but is only open to monthly students of casaAbhyasa – ashtanga yoga barcelona. i hope that you will take the time to come to this, as the ashtanga practice is much more than the asanas (physical postures). it is also a nice opportunity to bring everyone together and maintain our sense of community as practitioners.
i hope that you all have been having a good summer and have been enjoying your vacations! september is an interesting month as most of us return to our regular work schedules after having had some vacation time in august. the practice can be a very beneficial tool in helping to discipline oneself to return to a more structured daily routine. it is also a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with one’s health and well-being. i hope to see you all in class soon!
