yin-yang yoga workshop - “preparing for winter” : saturday, 10 november 2012

I am happy to announce that we will be offering a Yin/Yang Yoga Workshop - “Preparing for Winter” on SATURDAY, 10 NOVEMBER, from 10:30am – 1:30pm, taught by kathy paez.

In this Yin/Yang Yoga Workshop - “Preparing for Winter” we will be focusing on:
* The Metal element (lungs / large intestine) & Water (kidney/ bladder), we will be working on these meridians.
* During the session we will interweave dynamic movements (Yang) with static ones (Yin).
* Ujjayi breath to keep us connected with the lungs and the necessary internal heat for the oncoming winter.
* Meditation on the emotions related to these meridians with the use of aromatherapy attuned to the season and energetic lines.

autumn is definitely here now with the time change and shorter days... through the practice of yoga and the ujjayi breath, we are able to generate and stay connected with our inner fire in order to adapt to the coming cold weather. the practice can also help us cope with the slight nostalgia or melancholy that sometimes comes during this season. here is the november news: 

1. please note that THURSDAY, 1 NOVEMBER is a public holiday and the normal class schedule will be canceled. there will ONLY be a LED CLASS at 10am (please arrive 10 minutes early). 

2. also, please take into account that the moon days this month are: TUESDAY, 13 NOVEMBER, and WEDNESDAY, 28 NOVEMBER. there will be NO class on these days. 

3. on SATURDAY, 10 NOVEMBER, from 10:30am a 1:30pm there will be a yin-yang yoga workshop "preparing for winter" with kathy paez. we will be working on the meridians which can suffer imbalances during winter: the lungs and large intestine (metal element) and the kidneys and bladder (water element) with a practice of dynamic movements (Yang) and static ones (Yin). please reserve your spot with kathy paez: 617 672 872 or kathypaez@gmail.com

4. during NOVEMBER the REGULAR YIN YOGA CLASSES at MIDDAY will continue on TUESDAYS and THURSDAYS, from 2:15pm – 3:30pm, taught by Kathy Paez, in our shala. If you would like to attend these classes, please save your space: 617. 672. 872 or kathypaez@gmail.com

5. perhaps you have already seen in the shala the indian cotton yoga mats (for those who prefer to practice with them on top of the sticky mat, as they absorb sweat and provide more traction). they are 20 euros each, and come in a wide array of colors.
